A calm, clear WordPress admin with a command palette, a notice center and per-role visibility of menu items. The free version of Addofy.

== Description ==

Addofy Light restyles the WordPress admin into a quiet, well organised place and shows you how Addofy works. It uses hooks only: no core files are overridden, and forms and meta boxes are never moved in the DOM. Without JavaScript everything keeps working like native WordPress.

**What is in Addofy Light**

* Design system: fonts, buttons, cards, tables, notices, light, dark and auto themes and three densities (comfortable, compact, dense). The WordPress screens follow the same style.
* Admin shell: a grouped sidebar, a topbar with search and user menu, a simple view and a focus mode.
* Search and command palette (Ctrl/Cmd+K) for posts, pages, media, users and settings, with keyboard shortcuts.
* Admin notices: notices move into a panel behind a bell, grouped per plugin. You can mute a kind of notice for yourself.
* Visibility per role: hide the menu items of WordPress for a role, and look at the admin as another role. Capabilities never change.
* Save bar, smooth navigation, guides, Help panel and a few small time savers such as a start page after login.
* Safe mode, and a list of screens where Addofy stays off.
* Lightweight: assets load only on the screens where a part is active, and the frontend gets nothing except one search item in the admin bar for logged-in users who see that bar.

**Addofy Light and the licensed Addofy**

Addofy Light is complete on its own and needs no account, no license and no other plugin. The licensed Addofy has more: order, product and customer screens for WooCommerce, saved views, notifications, an edit panel, visibility for meta boxes, columns, notices and dashboard widgets, moving content between sites, multisite tools and more. The Modules page of Addofy Light shows these parts with a lock and a link to the Addofy site. Nothing is switched off in Addofy Light to push you: the locked parts are simply not in this plugin.

If you install the licensed Addofy, Addofy Light switches itself off and your settings stay.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the `addofy-light` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install the plugin under Plugins > Add New, and activate it.
2. Open Addofy in the admin menu. Modules switches parts on or off, Access sets what each role sees in the menu.
3. Press Ctrl/Cmd+K anywhere to open the command palette.

If something looks wrong on a screen, add it to the excluded screens on the Tools tab, or turn on safe mode with `define( 'ADBA_SAFE_MODE', true );` or `wp adba safe-mode on`.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need an account or a license? =

No. Addofy Light is free and works on its own.

= Does it change what users are allowed to do? =

No. Addofy only changes what is shown. Capabilities and permissions are never touched.

= Does it work with WooCommerce? =

Yes. The WooCommerce screens get the same look. The WooCommerce specific parts (product editor, order screen, customers) are in the licensed Addofy.

= Does it affect my website frontend? =

Hardly. Visitors get nothing. Logged-in users who see the admin bar get one search item there, which opens the command palette; its small script and stylesheet load only for them.

= What happens to my settings when I remove the plugin? =

By default they are kept. On the Tools tab you can choose to delete all Addofy data when the plugin is deleted. If the licensed Addofy is installed, Addofy Light never deletes the shared settings.

= Does it contact other servers? =

No. The links to the Addofy site on the Modules and Tools pages only open when you click them.

= Where is the source code of the compressed files? =

The JavaScript and CSS in `assets/dist` are built from the readable source in `assets/src` with esbuild. Run `npm install` and `npm run build` in the plugin folder to build them again.
