How do you connect Claude to Missive?
Ask Claude about conversations, tasks and contacts, and get the answer from your own shared inbox. You add the Missive add-on to MCP Hosted or MCP Self-hosted. Then you create an API token in Missive and paste it in My Account.
Claude and other MCP-compatible assistants then reach your inbox through MCP, the open standard that lets an AI assistant use other software. Your conversations stay in Missive. Nothing is copied to another tool.
What can Claude do in Missive?
Claude reads your inbox the way a colleague would: conversations and messages, internal comments, drafts, contacts, tasks and reports. You ask in your own words, for example:
Claude writes a suggested reply in the chat, not in Missive. You copy it, change what you want and send it yourself. For many teams that is all they need.
Can Claude send email for me?
Only when you allow it. Every tool starts read-only. In My Account you turn on Can make changes for Missive on a seat. Claude can then also:
- send an email or a reply in an existing conversation;
- add a task, a note or a label to a conversation;
- close, reopen or merge conversations;
- add or update a contact.
To send email you also fill in the address to send from. Merging two conversations cannot be undone, so ask Claude to check with you first. Turn it on only for the people who need it, such as a team lead who approves replies.
What do you need?
- A Missive account and an API token from its settings.
- If Claude may send email: the address to send from.
- A seat on MCP Hosted, or MCP Self-hosted, with the Missive add-on.

What does it cost?
On MCP Self-hosted the Missive add-on costs € 72,60 excl. VAT: € 60,00 per year. On MCP Hosted you add it to your seat for a monthly amount. The pricing page shows both.
