The SnelStart MCP server connects Claude to the SnelStart B2B API, so questions about your bookkeeping get answered in the conversation. Claude can list the sales invoices that are still open, look up a relation and its bookings, or show the period balance for last month.
It runs as an add-on on mcp-core, on MCP Hosted or on your own server. It logs in with two keys: the subscription key from the SnelStart developer portal and the koppelingssleutel of your administration from SnelStart Web. Your SnelStart password is never involved, and you can revoke the koppelingssleutel in SnelStart Web at any time.
What can Claude read with the SnelStart MCP server?
- Sales invoices, sales orders and quotes
- Relations, with their sales and purchase bookings
- Purchase invoices, bank and cash bookings
- General ledger accounts, ledger mutations, journals and cost centres
- VAT returns, VAT rates and countries
- The period balance and the column balance
- Articles and your company details
Every call is checked against a fixed list of SnelStart endpoints before it goes out. Claude cannot reach anything outside that list.
What changes when you enable write mode?
A seat starts read-only. On a seat set to read-write, Claude can also create and change relations, articles, quotes, sales orders, bank, cash, sales and purchase bookings and cost centres. In read-only mode those tools are not registered at all. Claude can only do what the koppelingssleutel allows in SnelStart.
How do you connect it to SnelStart?
- Copy the subscription key of your B2B API subscription from the SnelStart developer portal.
- Create a koppelingssleutel for your administration in SnelStart Web.
- Paste both in My Account under Tools, or in the
.envof your own mcp-core.

Can one install work with several administrations?
Yes. Add each administration as its own account with its own koppelingssleutel, under Accounts in My Account or in SNELSTART_CONNECTIONS. Claude then names the administration it means. That is the setup for an accountant with several clients.
