AddoBase

One plugin to run every AddoCore add-on

AddoBase is the free connector for AddoCore WordPress plugins. It connects your site to your AddoCore account, shows which add-on licenses you have and lets you switch add-ons on or off on this site. It also delivers updates for itself and every add-on.

AddoBase adds one screen to wp-admin. The add-ons you switch on there do the actual work.

Add-ons keep their data when a trial or license ends: switching an add-on off doesn’t delete its settings or content. Updates for AddoBase and every add-on show up on Dashboard → Updates and the Plugins screen, so you update them the same way as any other plugin. Running several sites? Each site connects to the same AddoCore account, and you choose per site which add-ons are on.

How it works

What AddoBase does

All licenses on one screen

The AddoBase screen lists every add-on with its license, how many sites are in use, trial days left and the installed version.

What is AddoBase

Try an add-on first

Most add-ons have a free trial for one site, without payment details. Buy during the trial and the add-on simply stays on.

Trials and licenses

Updates where you expect them

AddoBase and its add-ons update from the normal Plugins screen, or with one click on the AddoBase screen. Add-on updates need a valid license.

How updates work

Your data stays when a license ends

An add-on without a valid license stays installed; only its licensed features switch off. Settings and data are kept for when you renew.

Changelog

1.6.0

  • Added: lifetime licenses show how long support runs ("Support until ") or that it has ended.
  • Added: when a plugin's end of life is announced, AddoBase shows the date. The plugin keeps working after that, without updates or support.
  • Changed: a lifetime license reads "Updates until end of life" instead of "Lifetime updates".
  • Fixed: a few texts on the multisite network screen were not translated into Dutch.

1.5.0

  • Changed: AddoBase only trusts license states signed by addocore.com. A state copied from another site or changed in the database no longer unlocks paid add-ons.
  • Changed: right after this update AddoBase fetches a fresh signed state, so your add-ons keep working without waiting for the next check.
  • Changed: plugin zips are checked against the checksum from addocore.com before they are installed or updated.
  • Fixed: a license state is tied to the site address, also when the site runs on www.
  • Fixed: status badges keep their text centered when it wraps to a second line.

1.4.0

  • Added: free add-ons that come with a plugin you have a license for. They show as "Free with , unlimited sites" and work on every site where that plugin is active.
  • Added: each add-on shows a short summary and what it needs to work, for example "Needs: AddoBase, an active Addofy license on this site".
  • Added: multisite support. On a network every site keeps its own connection and license, with an overview in the network admin. Switching off a network-activated add-on on one site only frees the license of that site.

1.3.1

  • Changed: a plugin bought once installs and updates to the last version within its update period, also on a new site. A newer version shows as available, with a note to renew your updates.

1.3.0

  • Added: for a plugin bought once, the AddoBase screen shows "Updates until ", "Lifetime updates" or "Updates ended on ". The plugin keeps working after that date.
  • Added: a Renew updates button when the update period has ended or ends within 30 days.
  • Changed: when an update is available but the update period has ended, the screen says so instead of asking to renew the license.
  • Developers: Api 1.1.0 adds updates_until( $slug ) and is_lifetime( $slug ).

1.2.0

  • After switching an add-on on, AddoBase opens the add-on's first screen when the add-on names one (plugin header "AddoBase Setup" or the registration argument setup_url). Only admin pages of the same site.
  • The "switched on" message now also shows on that screen.

1.1.0

  • The screen shows each plugin with its icon, a short description and a link to its setup guide.
  • Status badges: Trial (with days left), Active, Expired, Not installed.
  • Clearer steps when the site is not connected yet.
  • Errors say what to do: no HTTPS, connection took too long, all sites of a license in use.
  • Renamed "free core" to "free connector".
  • First Dutch translation (nl_NL).

1.0.0

  • First release: account linking, license key mode, add-on switches, updates.
