What is inside one of these Claude skills?

Each skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file and a README.md with install notes. There are no scripts, so nothing executes on your machine. The top of SKILL.md holds a name and a description; the rest is the procedure in plain markdown: which tools to call, in which order, what to output and what never to do.

Claude reads the description to decide which of your installed Claude skills applies. You do not call a skill by name. Ask “triage today’s on-hold orders” and Claude picks the triage skill because the request matches its description.

How do you install Claude skills from this catalog?

Installing Claude skills works the same for every skill in the grid above:

1. Open a skill and check out. The price is €0.
2. Go to My Account → Skills and download the zip.
3. Unzip it and keep the folder name as it is.
4. In Claude Code, copy the folder to ~/.claude/skills/ to use it in all your projects, or to .claude/skills/ inside one repository.
5. In Claude Desktop, add the skill through Claude’s own skills settings.

The project route suits teams. Commit the folder to .claude/skills/ in a shared repository and everyone who works in that repository with Claude Code has the same skill, at the same version.

How do Claude skills connect to the add-ons?

A skill names tools, and those tools come from an MCP Self-hosted add-on. MCP Self-hosted only exposes a tool when your license holds the entitlement for it. Without the WooCommerce add-on, the tool woocommerce_list_orders does not exist for Claude, and the triage skill has nothing to call.

The second layer is the seat. Each seat has its own token, its own set of tools and its own setting per tool: read-only or Can make changes, set in My Account → MCP Self-hosted. A skill runs with whatever the seat you use in Claude allows. Most skills need only read-only. The Brain skills write to your vault and need Can make changes on Brain, which is on by default, and the comment moderation skill needs Can make changes on WordPress to apply its verdicts.

Which Claude skills can you download?

How do you check that a skill works?

Ask for the task in plain words and watch the tool calls. A working setup shows calls such as woocommerce_list_orders or brain_search before Claude answers. If Claude says the tool is not available, check two things: the add-on is on your license, and the seat you use in Claude includes that tool.

An add-on bought after installing MCP Self-hosted is picked up at the next license check. To load it right away, refresh the license:

Can you change a skill?

Yes. SKILL.md is plain text, so you can adjust it in your own copy. Thresholds are the usual candidates: the content audit asks about an 18-month staleness limit and the refund analyzer about a 90-day window. A fresh download from My Account gives you the original file again, so keep your edits in version control.
